Wivey Secret Gardens 2026 was a great success. Despite the rainy conditions, people loved exploring the hidden gardens in and around Wiveliscombe and enjoying the exciting list of entertainment.
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended Wivey Secret Gardens and made the event possible.

Jubilee Gardens

Jubilee Gardens served as our HQ for the weekend. It was where most people started their voyage around the secret gardens and was a place people could return to throughout the weekend for refreshments and entertainment.
We were serving refreshments and selling plants. Somerset Wildlife Trust was giving advice how to make our gardens more wildlife friendly. Adrian from Wivey Birds was showing people how to better spot and appreciate Wivey’s amazingly diverse ecosystem. And the BEE LADY was talking alllll about bees!

Braving the Shave

This is Tamara Campbell, one of our Micro Providers. Tamara decided she wanted to donate her hair to The Little Princess’ Trust and raise money for Wivey Cares and Cancer Research UK during the Secret Garden weekend.
We set up a ‘mobile shaving unit’ in Jubilee Gardens and this is Tamara after the pro hairdresser (Tamzin) got to work.
We are so thankful for Tamara’s kindness and contribution to the charity.

Secret Garden Passport

This was the Secret Gardens Passport. It was designed so people would have all the information about the weekend at their fingertips. Feel free to have a look:

A Huge Thank You…

This weekend was only possible thanks to the help of many behind the scenes… Without our trustee, Valeria Coots, Wivey Secret Gardens would have never happened! Not only was it her idea, she was the ringleader through the whole event. She organised the Art Barn, the gardens, the people, the safety inspections and so much more.
Thank you to Pauline Homeshaw who hosted the Garden and Wildlife Talks on the Saturday evening. She also helped us spread the word about the event on 10Radio and gave us priceless guidance and contacts throughout the planning process of the weekend.
Thank you to Lena Holland (of Wild Wivey) who helped bring in contacts for many of the gardens that were open through the weekend. Lena also organised the St. Andrew’s Churchyard tour with Bob Croft. She also facilitated the opening of the allotments for people to tour on the Sunday.
Thank you to Phil who granted us his barn for our Arts & Crafts Fair over the weekend.
Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and everyone who opened their gardens for the weekend!
