Co-ordinator Role
Every day is different, because of the nature of the job. Days can be filled with meeting new clients, families or potential micro-providers or volunteers. Everyone working within the Wivey Cares network, be it micro-providers or volunteers, need to be vetted. This means applying for DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and also making sure insurance is in place and mandatory training completed before the person starts.
Tamzin also provides physical and emotional support to micro-providers, clients and their families. Not to mention the constant liaison and admin work that goes with the territory – answering any enquiries, signposting or making referrals, explaining how the network operates, assessing the needs and formulating a care package plan, filling in Attendance Allowance applications, sending out care requests, processing the replies and introducing the micro-providers to the clients. Hospital discharge teams, GPs and village agents are key partners together with other local charities and liaise closely with the Co-ordinator to help any adult living in the 10 Parishes catchment area.
If you are in need, let Tamzin and Wivey Cares fight your corner.
